PRESS RELEASE . – "We really enjoyed the whole production, especially the subtle messages in the play," says Renae Zimmer, referring to the Cedar County Theatre’s production of Robert Fulghum’s "All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten". The play is a comedy/drama/musical conceived and adapted by Ernest Zulia; music and lyrics by David Caldwell. Carol Severa enjoyed the play during the Cedar County Fair, stating "I saw the play on Thursday night and enjoyed it very much. I was just so impressed with how well everyone performed and grateful for all the talented people in our community, and their willingness to spend so much of their personal time to rehearse and give to our community. Thank you Cedar County Theatre!" "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" is based on a book by Robert Fulghum. It is a series of short stories that deal with everyday life issues. There is a cast of 10 people who serve as storytellers and each scene is a different story, all of which center around one theme: the basic rules and guidelines that we learned in early childhood are still used everyday in our adult life. Some stories will make you laugh and others may make you cry, but all are situations that everyone can relate to in their own life. Directing this delightful ensemble of short stories is Deb Wiebelhaus. This is Deb’s first time directing with the Cedar County Theatre. Cast member, Maggie Fleming, says "Deb did an awesome job of bringing this play together. For some of us this is the first time we have been on a stage for twenty plus years. Deb’s patience and firm guidance really brought the cast together to form a fun, interesting, and touching creation." The cast is comprised of members of the Cedar County community, including: Teresa Arens, Josh Creekmore, Maggie Fleming, Bill Heimes, Heather Heimes, George Hirschbach, Gretchen Hirschbach, Colin Kathol, Lynn Kathol, and Kip Lammers. Amy Giorgio is the talented pianist providing the musical accompaniment. The production crew is manned by Tom Becker, Lee Carl, Beau Fleming, Marilyn Hansen, Allen Kathol, Shelley Lammers, Sally Opfer, and Karma Schulte. Director, Deb Wiebelhaus, says of the cast, "The cast members are a diverse group in age and theatre background. All are from Cedar County and have worked hard to put this show together. They have formed a bond that translates to the stage and the result is a fine performance." The Cedar County Theatre was formed in May 2002. Want to know more about becoming a member?
